Welcome to the 21st century of mainstream media lies where every day presents an opportunity to sell a story or manufacture a crisis.
On August 26th, 2011, hurricane Irene hit the Eastern Seaboard. Curiously enough, the panic that ensued was not caused by Irene, but rather, by the mainstream media’s hype of the storm.
The Hurricane Crisis?
When Irene hit the Bahamas and Puerto Rico it was a category 3 hurricane, predicted to increase in intensity by mainstream media outlets that were following predictions by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). However, 36 hours before Irene touched the coast of North Carolina, Air Force Reserve aircraft reported that the hurricane’s eye-wall had collapsed and it was dissipating.
By Friday, August 26th, at 7:30 a.m., Irene made her way to the North Carolina shores pushing sustained winds between 80-100 mph with wind gusts in excess of 130 mph, knocking down trees and power lines. 8-10 foot waves pounded the shore lines and the rains fell causing flooding.
On Saturday, August 27th, 6 deaths had already been attributed to Irene. Two people died in Virginia by falling trees. In North Carolina, a man was killed by a falling branch; another, washed away and feared drowned. Adding to the possible VALID deaths caused by the storm was a North Carolina man who had a heart attack while boarding up his house and the Floridian death of a surfer who died riding the large waves Irene kicked up.
Even as the hurricane dissipates and heads back out to the Atlantic, the mainstream media lies about the potential damage and will likely exaggerate the disaster to elevate it to a crisis level for the sake of politics.
Overreactions? You decide.
NEW YORK – On Saturday, Michael Bloomberg told New Yorkers that Irene was a life-threatening hurricane and urged people to heed evacuation orders given to over 300,000 people. He shut down the subway system leaving millions of people without transportation and had the city’s five major airports redirect incoming flights to the State.
U.S. HOMELAND SECURITY – On Saturday, Secretary Janet Napolitano issued a statement. “I would not advise people to focus that much on a hurricane’s ‘category'”, she said, “if you’re in a hurricane, it’s a big deal!” She also reiterated that Irene was a large and dangerous storm.
U.S. PRESIDENT – Barack Obama left Martha’s Vineyard Saturday to lead the government’s response to hurricane Irene.
The Obama Cares Conspiracy
The mainstream media lies and cover ups for this White House administration are clear to ANYONE paying attention to politics. President Obama has spent more money than any President in history, has issued more executive orders than his predecessor, has bypassed Congress by instructing the Justice Department to ignore immigration laws, has instructed the Health and Human Services Department to stop Medicaid funding to States that deny federal funding to abortion clinics, and has given waivers for certain businesses and organizations to NOT take part in the Obamacare law. He continually blames the unemployment, housing, and financial problem on Republicans while simultaneously threatening to tax the shit out of, what HE considers wealthy, Americans and the businesses that employ them.
My prediction is that this hurricane will continue to be the topic of mainstream media lies and political pandering for the next few weeks and the people whose possessions and loved ones are lost will be exploited by this administration.
