If you have not noticed, I am not a publicity or advertisement oriented person. This site contains no links that I, personally, profit from and no advertisements. No, this blog is completely dedicated to personal thoughts on politics, religion, and life in general. However, something happened, this past week, that I cannot ignore. The shooting in Arizona that was “supposedly” inspired by politics and incited by “TEA Party spokespeople”From the moment this tragedy took place, the liberal media began doing what they do best nowadays, speculate; not on fact, but instead, on using this horrific crime as reason to cast suspicion on conservatives, especially TEA Party conservatives.
Yes, the TEA Party that interrupted politics as usual has some folks with different, and sometimes seemingly strange, ideas. Their gatherings are large and consist of people who understand the Constitution of the United States and they are vocal in their opposition to the direction that both Congress and this President are taking this country. They have rallies, they have speakers, they have fund raisers; by rights, they are a political Party in America that has, yet, to be formalized.
As the TEA Parties began occurring across the United States, most media outlets ignored the massive turnouts. Those that didn’t, tried to portray these citizens as stupid and uneducated. Soon, the truth about the funding behind the TEA Party came out and reporters drooled over the GOP’s, apparent, split. Some said that this was a GOP tactic, while others said that it was a GOP succession. In an attempt to gather people together of all faiths to to pledge to “restore honor” to our nation, Glenn Beck held one of the biggest rallies in American history. It’s important to note that there were NO arrests and, once again, that it was a peaceful assembly.
By the mid-term elections, the liberal media, Democrats, and the President, himself, had repeatedly tried to demean the TEA Party by claiming they were a racist, stupid, and selfish group that promoted hatred and violence that GOP sought to take advantage of. However, if this was the GOP’s plan, it backfired. Big time. The, current, TEA Party wing of the GOP took over many established GOP incumbent seats and that has not sat well with the GOP establishment. In many ways, as bad a “shellacking” as the Democrats took in November of 2010; establishment GOP leaders suffered humiliating losses as well.
You would think, with all these experts on the TEA Party in the news media and political front, that they could have assessed the number of Americans they were referring to and what kind of political reaction this type of rhetoric would bring.
Actually, I don’t think it, I know they are baiting Americans to fight each other.Case and point, the attempted assassination of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords by a mentally deranged individual was, in haste, tied to rhetoric by TEA Party spokeswoman, Sarah Palin by outlets such as MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN. While Fox news reported on the condition of Congresswoman Giffords, obtained footage of the crime scene, interviewed the heroes who intervened and stopped a second round of shootings from occurring; I watched in horror, as the above channels ran interviews with “experts” that blamed the TEA Party for this tragedy and showed, virtually, nothing of the footage I saw on Fox. This guy had a history of drug use, occult paraphernalia in his home, believed in some form of mind control, and now evidence has appeared that he had been planning this assassination since before the TEA Party ever existed.
Even with these facts, the liberal media inspired by Democratic rhetoric, continue to try to connect the TEA Party to this lunatic. The distaste I have for the actions of these people, who used this tragedy for political gain, goes beyond words. There are no apologies or excuses offered to the people whose names are being besmirched by these false accusations and I, for one, am tired of seeing it.
The only thing these people seem to understand are ratings, so I have decided to show my disapproval by shutting off my television and letting them talk to the 500 people who are still listening.
I have been been praying for all those who were murdered, their families, and their friends. Likewise, for the speedy recovery of the surviving victims.
May God comfort you during this time of trial.
